WORSHIP NOTE: During the somber Season of Lent, the Hymn of Praise, Gloria in Excelsis, is omitted from our worship service.

LENTEN SEASON: The Lenten Midweek Service series concludes on Wednesday, April 5th.

OFFICE HOURS: The office will be open from 9 am – Noon during first week of April, the 3rd through the 7th. If you need assistance outside of these hours, you are encouraged to contact Ed Rose.

PEACE LUTHERAN JOB OPPORTUNITY: The Church Council of Peace Lutheran Church, Warren is currently interviewing for an Administrative Assistant. Qualified applicants please submit a resume and fill out an application with the church office by Friday, April 28, 2017. This position requires the following: – Excellent typing and word processing skills – Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel – Record keeping and filing skills – Excellent phone skills with the ability to answer multiple lines – A boundless amount of patience, tact and understanding, and – Most importantly, the ability to keep confidences of church members, students, and parents The applicant will have to undergo a background check, fingerprinting, and CPR/First Aid training. A more detailed job description is available upon request. Interviews will begin May 1, 2017 with a decision to be made by May 12, 2017. Start Date will be June 1, 2017. The current secretary will provide training thru June 23rd, before she leaves to take on the responsibilities of a military wife. Hours to be worked will be 8:00am to 4:00 pm during the school year from August 15th to June 15th. Reduced summer hours will be determined by the Pastor and the Principal.

SPRING RUMMAGE SALE: WHEN? Saturday April 8th TIME? 8am to 3pm WHERE? Peace Lutheran Church & School 11701 E. 12 Mile Road (12/Hoover, across from St. John Hospital) Early Bird 8am to 9am – $2.00 entrance fee Regular Sale 9am to 1pm – admission free Bag Sale – 1pm to 3pm. – $2.00 bags sale – we provide the bags for you to use Bake Sale 8am-3pm or until sold out – varying prices

EASTER BREAKFAST: Please join the youth group on Easter Sunday for breakfast. We will be serving Egg bake with and without ham, a breakfast danish, and fruit. Coffee, tea, milk and juice will also be available. We will serving the meal between 8:30am and 9:45am. This will allow us to do most of the clean up before church. We will be collecting a freewill offering to cover the cost. We hope you will be able to join us for a yummy breakfast before church.

EASTER FLOWERS: It’s that time of year again to order your Easter Flowers! Order forms can be found in the narthex on the back counters or they can be emailed to you if that is convenient.

WE WANT YOUR GENTLY USED SHOES!! Ask your family, friends and neighbors if they have gently used shoes to donate for our fundraiser! The only requirements are that they are not torn, the sole is intact and there is a left and a right and they must be rubber-banded or tied together! Any style of shoe from dress shoes, tennis shoes, cleats, sandals, etc.! There will be a bin in the foyer of the school entrance for you to deposit them. Our goal is 100 bags (25 pairs per bag) – let’s shoot WAY past that goal!!

US POSTAL FOOD DRIVE: It is fast approaching! Our Post Office Food Drive! Please set the date aside to donate as many hours as you can to help us. We shall begin around 9:30 a.m. on May 13th. Please bring any wagons, carts etc. to help move canned goods more easily. We shall provide pizza, pop, potato chips and dessert for your lunch. Remember, it is just this one day which we are showered with food to keep our ministry here at Peace going for a full year. It is a wonderful extension of God’s love by providing nourishment to the less fortunate. We pray you’ll be able to join us. The companionship is the best!

TIM HAWKINS CONCERT: All are welcome to join the Unity Youth Group for a concert featuring comedian Tim Hawkins on May 19th! The group is meeting at Hope Lutheran Church (32400 Hoover Rd.) at 5:30pm and the event takes place at Grace Christian Church (33801 Van Dyke Ave.). All children younger than the Senior Youth will need to be accompanied by an adult. Doors will open at 6:15 and you can sign up and pre-pay $25 for tickets by 4/16/17 or pay $30 at the door. You may give your money to Pastor Dan, Suzanne Brown, Jill Oltman, or leave it in a labeled envelope in the drop box in the Youth Room.

ANNUAL LIVE AND SILENT AUCTION: is May 5th at 6:30pm at the LFA Hall in Eastpointe! Ay Caramba! It’s the Biggest Fundraiser of the Year! Peace’s 7th Annual Live and Silent Auction is Cinco De Mayo! Included is a Taco Bar, Wine Pull, Balloon Raffle, Auction items from over 60 Michigan Business Contributors along with one of a kind class projects! FastDirect Andrea Moore or Nikki Standen if you have decorative talents to offer for this Mexican Themed event or any additional suggestions.
