SCHOOL NEWS OPEN HOUSE: We will be having an open house on Sunday, May 21st from 11:30am – 1pm after our Spring Musical! Please invite your friends and family to join us and meet our teachers and staff!

MEET AND GREET! Please let your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers know about our school! Parents who are considering sending their children to our school next year are welcome to visit during the day to see what we are all about. We have set aside Friday mornings from 8:45-9:30 to showcase our school. Please make us aware of your intention to visit by calling the office beforehand and providing us with your name.

USED SHOES FUNDRAISER: We’ve surpassed our goal of 100 pairs of shoes and are currently at 109 pairs! The students have earned a popcorn and movie day! Our next goal is 200 pairs and the students will earn ANOTHER reward!

PEACE LUTHERAN JOB OPPORTUNITY: The Church Council of Peace Lutheran Church, Warren is currently interviewing for an Administrative Assistant. Qualified applicants please submit a resume and fill out an application with the church office by Friday, April 28, 2017. This position requires the following: – Excellent typing and word processing skills – Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel – Record keeping and filing skills – Excellent phone skills with the ability to answer multiple lines – A boundless amount of patience, tact and understanding, and – Most importantly, the ability to keep confidences of church members, students, and parents The applicant will have to undergo a background check, fingerprinting, and CPR/First Aid training. A more detailed job description is available upon request. Interviews will begin May 1, 2017 with a decision to be made by May 12,, 2017. Start Date will be June 1, 2017. The current secretary will provide training thru June 23rd, before she leaves to take on the responsibilities of a military wife. Hours to be worked will be 8:00am to 4:00 pm during the school year from August 15th to June 15th. Reduced summer hours will be determined by the Pastor and the Principal.

PTL NEWS PEACE’S 7th ANNUAL AUCTION CONTRIBUTIONS: If you would like to donate an item such as a homemade craft, service or add to a class basket, please fill out a donation form from the office and you receive tax credit! PANTHER PRESS AUCTION REGISTRATION: The cost to attend the Auction is $20 per person paid in advanced in the office or $25 at the door on May 5th at the LFA Hall. Fliers are available on the entry way Bulletin Board and office.


US POSTAL FOOD DRIVE: It is fast approaching! Our Post Office Food Drive! Please set the date aside to donate as many hours as you can to help us. We shall begin around 9:30 a.m. on May 13th. Please bring any wagons, carts etc. to help move canned goods more easily. We shall provide pizza, pop, potato chips and dessert for your lunch. Remember, it is just this one day which we are showered with food to keep our ministry here at Peace going for a full year. It is a wonderful extension of God’s love by providing nourishment to the less fortunate. We pray you’ll be able to join us. The companionship is the bestest! W

E WANT YOUR GENTLY USED SHOES!! Ask your family, friends and neighbors if they have gently used shoes to donate for our fundraiser! The only requirements are that they are not torn, the sole is intact and there is a left and a right and they must be rubberbanded or tied together! Any style of shoe from dress shoes, tennis shoes, cleats, sandals, etc.! There will be a bin in the foyer of the school entrance for you to deposit them. Our goal is 100 bags (25 pairs per bag) – let’s shoot WAY past that goal!!

OTHER AREA NEWS ST. PETER EASTPOINTE FRIDAY FISH FRY: Join St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Eastpointe for their Friday Fish Fry every Friday during Lent. Dinner is from 5-7pm and the last dinner will be Friday, April 14th. Pay $10 per adult or $5 per child with carryout options available too!
